In addition, Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering, Ltd. shall acquire, use and provide necessary personal information only for the purpose of use, and forbid use of personal information for any other purposes.
Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering, Ltd. shall set up Personal Information Protection Rules to ensure the achievement of the above.

Purpose of Use, Provision to Third Parties, and Contract Services

  1. Personal Information obtained through providing products and services

    Concerning personal information provided by customers while offering products, goods, and/or services, Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering, Ltd. will use such personal information for the purpose of: (a) performing the business transaction with the customer; and, (b) providing support services or any related information to the customer. Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering, Ltd. may, to the extent necessary to perform the business transaction, (i) share the personal information with other related persons or entities; or (ii) outsource some portions of the business transaction.


  2. Personal Information obtained for contract services

    Concerning personal information provided by customers of contract services, such as support services to products, producing software products and shipping them, and managing engineers, Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering, Ltd. will use such personal information only for the purpose of executing the service according to the written contract with the customer or written instructions from the customer.


  3. Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering, Ltd. shall not provide personal information to a third party without obtaining prior consent from customers, except in the following situations:
    1. Where provision of personal information is required by laws or regulations
    2. Where provision of personal information is necessary to protect human lives, health, or property, and where obtaining prior consent from the customer is difficult
    3. Where provision of personal information is especially necessary to improve public hygiene or promote healthy development of children, and where obtaining prior consent from the customer is difficult
    4. Where provision of personal information is necessary to cooperate with national authorities, local governments, or parties entrusted by national authorities or local governments in performing their legal duties, and where obtaining prior consent from the customer may obstruct the performance of such duties
    5. Where it is necessary to provide and share personal information within the range of necessity with a third party entrusted by Hitachi group companies or Hitachi Information & Communication Engineering, Ltd. in order to achieve the purpose of use
    6. Where provision of personal information is necessary for business succession as a result of consolidation or other business activities

    There is a service charge of JPY 600 on disclosure of personal information or issuing a Purpose of Use. For details, please see "Collection of Service Charges". Please note that correction, addition, or deletion of personal information is free of charge.
  4. How to Apply
    Only applications via postal mail are acceptable. Please fill in all the items of the "Application Regarding Personal Information (e.g. Request to Disclose)", enclose the form with a copy of your personal identification, and the certificate of payment if necessary, and send all the required documents to the mailing address below by registered mail.

We will send our reply to the address stated on your identification by registered mail (applicant receivable only). The internal investigation takes two weeks. If more than two weeks is necessary, we will contact you.
